I heard the whistle of the train
As I left this town
Tried to pick up the last remains
Without turning around

Blackbirds on the wire
Singing to my lonely sky
I guess they've realized
I can't stand saying goodbye

I got my steel wheels spinning in vain
To forget your face
Under dark clouds and heavy rain
I feel so displaced

Blackbirds fled the wire
To sing in someone else's sky
