Between The Stars

Maybe I was looking down
When you, the satellite, broke through
And left the speck that was our town
And disappeared in fading blue
So when the gravity let go
And all the forces loosened grip
I couldn't help but feel alone
In some way heavier for it

All I know to say
Is it lonely in between the stars?
As I've been back home watching from far away I wonder where you are
And did you look back as you crossed the moon?

You feel the timing start to slip
We'll meet again one day, I hope
Like midnight waves of passing ships
When you feel the dreams collide
