Signpost In The Sea

At first light you looked so fragile,
Felt that if I moved I'd break you,
Something solid forming in the air around you,
Lifts me off the ground, without a sound,
Swallow me whole, body and soul.

Lift me up and strip me naked,
Take my mouth and take my eyes,
Leave me where there are no shadows,
Under starless, cloudless skies.

Lying empty, shell-like,
