It's like one step forward, then two more back
I push myself down with no time to react
No brace for the impact, or warning to the storm
I struggle to stay afloat, and remain true to form
With pressure to perform, but the truth in my heart
I strive for unity, single minded but set apart
The approach seems different, and I promise it will be
But it's me against me, and it's an empty recipe
Change is an easy word, but no matter who is sent
If it's not real to me, I will never implement
Honesty calls, and I'll ignore if I can
Like the sin I set on repeat, over and over again
But amongst the hollow habits, and things I can't erase
I remember you are God, and I'm your child saved by Grace
