Awakenings

Daylight burns my clouded eyes...
Consciousness returns, severe pain...
Try to rise, weak from blood loss...
Convulsive mobility, I writhe and squirm...
Ghastly scene of carnage, surroundings are nightmarish...
I've become infected -
Clotted pus replaces skin...
Never shall these wounds heal -
A great percent of my body I cannot feel...

"Why did I do it?"
"Will the nightmare end?"

Prepare bodies...

"I must leave this place, cover my wounds"
Cutting flesh...

Sewing skin...

Search for the demon, parade through town...

Human costume...

My journey takes me far from home...
Traveling to places unknown, unfamiliar faces...
Languages unable to speak, blasphemy has taken my tongue...

Cannot communicate...

The bleak heat of the sun, makes me sweat and itch...
Under my suit of human skin
Still, I forge on...

Reach the too familiar place...
Ages of weathering almost unrecognizable...
