Perilous is the heart that thrives
Towards a new life is what they strive
Blood is lost as debts are paid
Against all odds in a jungle maze

Steam burns and skin is cracked
Families huddle on the roof racks
Boldly robbed in the night's glare
Human prey for corporate fare

Back to back on the spine of the beast
Willing to die if that's what it takes
Towards lands that refuse to accept
And build walls to blind eyes to the deaths

Out of fear, they run and hide
A glimpse of rapture their one true guide
The quest for what we take for granted
What should be done to help those disenchanted?
